Red Epic 5k Camera
The Red Epic Camera is still the go to camera for top-end digital cinematography. Now only marginally superseded by its Dragon upgrade version to 6K.
Recording at high speeds of up to 5K (5120×2700 17:9 Resolution) the Epic is the most versatile camera available. The Epic can shoot between 1-300 FPS at between 2k and 5k resolution, in a variety of different modes including 2:1, 16:9 and Anamorphic. With more resolution and frame rate options than the Arri Alexa, the Epic is the preferred camera for action sequences, wildlife filming, and beauty work.
Combined with its high specification and small size, is SSD Redmag recording Redcode RAW in a range of compressions from 3:1 – 18:1.
The Epic remains the number one choice for many cinema shoots and high-end commercial, promo or fashion projects. Shooting RAW gives directors huge possibilities for image adjustment in the grade after, and the 5K capture delivers excellent 4K cinema and beautiful UHD TV imagery.
Available with Arri PL mount, Canon EF lens mount or Nikon mount, the Red Epic can be used with all major cinema lenses with no adaptors. It’s this versatility, its robust design and reliability that have kept the Epic top of the pile for so long.
